As i wanted to try and convert one of the structures into a modern day music venue i thought the best to do this would be the globe theater, having been burnt down several times over the original plans are hard to come by, but i have found some plans and measurements of the current standing globe theater on the south-bank of London
This also got me thinking, what other famous venues are a circular shape? one of the most famous venues in the world Madison Square Garden. Now i know its not just used for music, but it is the same basic shape as the globe and i could defiantly draw some ideas from this structure
a second famous circular structure is the Roundhouse in Camden, a much closer scale to the globe theater and a similar two floor structure.
I will be heading into London this week to take some reference images of the Globe theater and hopefully get a good idea of how it was built.
